I have been fortunate in being allowed to design and implement
two science units in classrooms in which I have been placed.

The first was a unit based on Water at Cannon Hill State School working
with a Grade 1-2 class with a considerable spectrum of academic ability

The second was a Genetics and Taxonomy unit that I delivered
to a Grade 6-7 girls’ class at St Anthony’s School.

I developed websites concurrently with the delivery of these Science Units, and those web pages were used to make the students’ learning visible, for revision and for focus in subsequent lessons.
It has been my experience that such web based modes of delivery are enthusiastically received by young people and can, if used well, be very effective in channelling their natural inclinations toward deep and persistent learning
